Laundry Day & Karaoke Torture
Sunday, August 31, 2008

Well, it's Sunday and that usually means Laundry Day for me. It's a good thing too. I was starting to reach that low level of clothing that I would probably have to choose between my Darth Vader or Bleach Shinigami costume if pressed to go out in public right at this minute.

Since I live with my parents, Sunday also means that I will also be tortured with Family Karaoke. It's been somewhat of an unofficial tradition that everyone in the house take turns singing a song from the Karaoke book. This tradition is in the same level as getting KFC to celebrate family events like birthdays, anniversaries, fathers/mothers' day, etc. (The only exceptions are Thanksgiving and Christmas where we usually go nuts with the cooking). My parents believe that singing your heart out is good for the lungs and soul. I don't know about that, but it's what they believe and I have to respect that.

So, imagine a Shinigami/Samurai or Darth Vader belting out Willie Nelson's "Always on My Mind" and you should have a pretty good idea what I look like right now.

I hope everyone enjoys their Labor Day holiday tomorrow. I'm hoping that the weather here will be tolerable since Hurricane Gustave will probably be closer then.

Busy and On Vacation
Sunday, August 03, 2008

I apologize for not posting in a while. I've been busy trying to get my vacation off the ground.

Yes, this monkey is actually taking the whole week off to unplug my brain from the insanity of my workplace and also to celebrate my getting older.

Today, I'll be battling the laundry monster. I'm doing this now so that I won't have to worry about it for the rest of the week.

I'll try to post some highlights of my little break. Don't expect anything crazy at the moment. I'm strapped for cash so my adventures will most likely be on the budget/economy side of life.

Check back with you later! ~ByteMonkey

Sunday Fun
Sunday, May 18, 2008

Well, it's another Sunday and we all know what that partly means: Laundry Day. It's a good thing too. The scent of cigarette smoke is lingering on the clothes I wore last night. So, I'll be doing this for a good part of the day.

I woke up this morning wanting tacos and I've decided that I'll be "running for the border" sometime today. Maybe after I'm done with laundry, I'll go to TacoBell and drive around town for a bit. This will give me an another excuse to listen to my music in my Ipod-powere car. I just have to remember not to be driving around for too long since the price of gasoline has making my wallet cry for a while now.

I don't have any tech calls this weekend so I'm relatively free to do what I want. So far, it's been a good weekend for me. I really believe that in order to keep yourself sane that you sometimes have to take some time to let go of all your problems and have a good time.

Fighting the Laundry Monster
Sunday, May 11, 2008

As I begin my weekly battle with the Laundry Monster, a random Google search into the subject led me to this photograph. It's an art piece from a web site titled "Mother: the Job". Since, it's mother's day, I thought it would be appropriate tribute to share this site to the world!
