Personal Advice

It would probably have been a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to buy or bid on a Sega Game Gear from eBay, than to build a plutonium-powered time machine, track and collect money from 1994, and risk destroying the time-space continuum just to get a complete and brand new system.

Posting about Nothing
Friday, October 10, 2008

I just realize that it’s been a while since I posted anything on my blog. It’s not that I’ve been lazy. There’s just nothing really interesting happening around me lately except for the fact that I seem to be way to busy at work these days.

So, I decided to break the dry spell and post something even if it is to comment about not having anything interesting to post.

I did start reading a book that wasn’t a computer/programming manual which is a rarity by itself. I’m currently reading Orson Scott Card’s “Invasive Procedures.” I’m not exactly sure how to describe the story since I’m only a third ways into the book. I suppose I’ll post about that when I finish reading it. We’ll see.

At work, I’m swamped up to my eyeballs with having to “tween” a bunch of pictures for our web site of bariatric surgery patients to show how they progressively loose weight over time. It’s a tedious and boring task that makes me feel a lot of loathing towards myself for being pudgy and guilty for loving bacon a little too much.

The weather is supposed to be pretty good this weekend. I’m trying to decide if I want to spend my time on the beach or have a backyard barbecue or have a barbecue at the beach. Either way, I hope to not spend too much time in front of the computer screen this weekend.

Well, that’s enough babbling for now. I’ll post again if anything worthy of posting happens.

Clarity
Sunday, September 14, 2008

Somewhere between mental exhaustion and sleep, I found a moment of clarity. In this moment, I realized that you can not escape your past. You can try to keep running away from it until it seem like you have lost it, but the truth is that you’re only a few paces ahead of it for a little while. The past will catch up with you. There is no doubt of it.

A Lesson Learned
Sunday, July 06, 2008

ByteMonkey: Hey!

Maggie: Ugh. What's that smell?

ByteMonkey: Huh? It's probably me.

Maggie: What the hell are you wearing?

ByteMonkey: I'm wearing PineSol.

Maggie: What?

ByteMonkey: I wanted smell fresh and clean. And I heard that nothing smells more fresh and clean like PineSol can!

Maggie: Get away from me you freak!!! You smell bad and you're giving me a headache.

ByteMonkey: Heartless bitch.

Maggie: What did you say?!?!

ByteMonkey: I said, "My eyes itch!"

That was the last thing I remember before I lost consciousness and later found myself laying on my back on the floor with my face feeling very sore.

The lesson here: PineSol is great on floors, but not on you.

Nonsense
Saturday, May 10, 2008

Sometimes, I find myself having my hopes raised up so high that I start to think that this moment is the turning point of my whole life. I begin to think that my luck is turning and everything will be okay. Maybe. Just maybe. I, too, can live a happy normal life....

Then reality punches me in the groin and she exclaims, "Silly little monkey. Happiness shall never be yours."

Yes. Life and her sister Reality are bitches.
