Portable Microwave Oven? What's Next?

I know that I live under a virtual rock and a lot things do get by me, but there was one thing that passed me by that I totally regret not noticing. This one thing is the portable microwave oven.

I guess I was just way too preoccupied with my work and with saving the Internet from itself that I totally missed humanity's need for such a device. All those times that I was working on clever scripts and writing code, I could have been spending it developing something to meet this obvious necessity. For this, I apologize to the world

How many times have I been driving around in my car and suddenly have a craving for fresh microwave popcorn? All the time!!!

Well a company named iCubed apparently noticed the need for this type of device and has stepped up to fill this big void in our lives by inventing the "iwavecube 2.0" portable microwave oven. They have even kept in theme with all the other portable personal devices that you now carry with you by offering them in an assortment of colors.

All in all, the only thing I can really say is "Wow!" We still haven't found a cure the common cold but we obviously can build portable food nukers because this was something that humanity could use. Visit http://www.iwavecube.com/ for more info about the device.

New iPod Shuffle is "Small"
Thursday, March 12, 2009

The new iPod shuffle now sports 4 GB of disk space and about half the size of it's predecessor. They removed all the control buttons on the chassis and built them into the cord of their proprietary headphones. The also put Steven Hawkings's voice as your voice over announcer to give you your music track information.

This new tiny, sleek, suppository-like design and larger capacity, makes it now possible to have unsupervised children accidentally swallow/choke on more music than ever before. It also guarantees that you'll probably misplace the damn thing before the day is over.

The new buttonless design will eventually make you realize that you can't use your old generic headphone and that you'd better not loose the one that you get (or else you'll have to wait a while for a 3rd part to rip them off or pay ungodly amounts of money to Apple for a replacement).

Visit http://www.apple.com/…odshuffle/ to learn more about the new Shuffle. Visit http://www.ex-lax.com/ if you've swallowed one.

Walmart Takes Nintendo DSi Pre-orders!
Sunday, March 08, 2009

I went online this morning to buy some DVDs from the Wamart.com website and I was pleasantly suprised to see a promo box on their homepage that was advertising the Nintendo DSi for $169. I checked my prefered site for buying crap, Amazon.com, and they didn't have anything listed yet.

Being the insane portable gamer that I am, I took this opportunity and pre-ordered one!

From the all the I hoops and pages that I jumped through, I gathered that they'll start shipping around the first or second week of April.

Apparently, size does matter.

Monkey Gets Bluetooth
Friday, June 06, 2008

While I was roaming today about in Target, I spotted Skullcandy's iPod Bluetooth adapter called the "The Approach" and decided to pick it up. This thing has been out since January, but only now that I have a new iPod that I've actually paid any attention to it.

The Approach is a very simple device. Plug it in and it starts looking for something to pair with. There's really nothing to press on the adapter. Most of the work will be turning on the discovery mode on your headset

Right now, I'm using the Approach with my Plantronics Pulsar 590E Bluetooth headset and they both seem to be working great. I originally bought this headset a couple of years back to listen to music on my Nokia 6265i cellphone but later found out that the phone didn't support stereo sound on Bluetooth. I never really used it much since I wasn't happy with the sound quality.

Now that I'm using it with the iPod to listen to music instead of my phone, the sound quality is awesome. To top it all, the Pulsar 590 supports multiple device connections. This means I can have it paired to my iPod and to my phone at the same time.

"The iPod has Landed" or "Another Sleepless Night"
Thursday, May 29, 2008

I was just checking my Amazon.com account to see how far away my iPod has to travel to get to me, and I was surprised to find out that it has already arrived to my home. I wasn't expecting it to arrive so soon. In fact, I just received the shipping confirmation yesterday. (I wonder if it got stalled in the email server). I thought I had a few more days of waiting left to do, but now I'm not complaining.
With the iPod waiting for me at home, I'm probably going to be staying up all night long trying to get it synchronized with my current music library. I am hoping that this unit already has all the firmware updates on it so that I don't waste any time doing boring stuff like updating the firware. I'll probably be working on getting my movies on the device. I already have the software that I need. The only thing missing was the iPod which now here.
If you're thinking about driving by my house to steal my iPod package, please think again. I already called my neighbor and told them to pick up and hold it for me. By the way, they are NRA members and they would love to have a reason to play with their new "thirty-aught-six."

iPod Madness
Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Sometime during the weekend I decided that I needed a new iPod. So, I grabbed all the loose change in my car and headed for the local CoinStar machine where I managed to turn my change into an Amazon.com gift certificate for $58.17 to help finance this purchase. Plus, I did some computer work recently that is going help make this expense a little more palpable.

My reason for wanting a new iPod is related to my current iPod adapter in my car. Since I've had that adapter, I usually leave my old iPod in my car. I rarely remember to disconnect it and take it inside so I can listen my tunes. After a while, I started missing having my iPod around. Sure I could listen to music on my computer or on my mp3-enabled phone, but it just wasn't the same.

Now, I'm waiting for my new iPod. I chose the modest black iPod Classic with the 80gb capacity. I figured this would hold my 20GB music library and leave some room for video clips which my old iPod did not support.

So now, I'm dying of anticipation. I just can't wait for the bloody thing to arrive.
